The morning Session: We are excited to announce Thomas Harvey from the Department for Education's Curriculum Development Unit as a guest speaker at next terms conference. Thomas, an experienced curriculum leader, will facilitate a timely and interactive discussion about innovative curriculum design for Special Options, addressing the diverse needs of students with special and complex needs. This session marks the launch of an exciting new collaboration between the Curriculum Development Unit and the Inclusive Teaching and Learning Team. The project aims to strengthen curriculum planning and delivery tailored for learners with significant, and often complex, learning requirements. The approach is grounded in the South Australian Curriculum and emphasises inclusive, accessible, and engaging learning experiences that promote meaningful outcomes for all students.Thomas will outline the project's objectives, invite participants to contribute their expertise, and discuss opportunities for selected schools to trial resources and share their project outcomes. This is a unique opportunity for school leaders, educators, and support staff to be part of an emerging network focused on systemic and collaborative improvement in curriculum approaches for Special Options learners. Come and share your insights, learn from others, and help shape the future of curriculum for all South Australian students.
We are also excited to present Angela Falkenburg - the President of the Australian Primary Principals Association. Angela is a passionate Educator who has a deep interest in improving educator wellbeing. She recently presented to Educators in New Zealand 'Leading in Complex Times' and has generously agreed to share this work with SASEPLA. Angela is an engaging presenter who brings humour and warmth to her presentations.
